Biography
Textiles are a part of all of our lives. We are wrapped in fabric from the time we are born until we die. I have always been intrigued with the role it plays in our lives, so using it as a medium has been a natural way to express my creative vision. My textile pieces are constructed almost exclusively of silk. I find the saturation of color in this fabric unsurpassed, and its’ iridescence and ability to capture and reflect light remarkable. Working with this material often triggers the creative process. Geometric shapes predominate in my work, drawing on a long history of quilt making. This along with the elements of design found in all cultures provides much of my inspiration.
